I remember a story done by Spy magazine in the 80s (anyone else remember Spy magazine?), about "Celebrity Coasters."
The idea was that there are many celebrities who achieved one huge success for which they are primarily remembered; they may continue to work (and have success), but they never achieve the same pinnacle of visibility they did with that one major work.
Examples were (as I recall) Liza with Cabaret and Barbra with Funny Girl.
Reading about Anthony Rapp's new show all about his life with Rent, and the new concert appearance by Rapp & Pascal, who can't seem to really get beyond Rent, I was wondering:
