Celia Keenan-Bolger was given a great send-off Sunday night at her last performance as Olive in "Spelling Bee". Recognition applause at her initial entrance, a speech at the end by producer David Stone who presented her with flowers on stage, a recorded message from former co-star Jesse...it was a touching conclusion to a wonderful run.

AAAWW, that's so sweet! She will be missed, but is definitely headed in a great direction. Congratulations, Celia!

It was a great show! I loved the Lisa Loeb jokes. :o)
Do tell us more about Lisa Loeb.
Was Snow in the audience?
OMG, that Lisa Loeb joke was great!!
A girl who had glasses, jewelry, a dress over leggings, black mini heels, was described as "On her way to the Bee, Shelby robbed Lisa Loeb."
Another good one for her was "Shelby Walsh changed her last name from Coming Round The Mountain"

Celia started pretending to gallop on the bleachers and was singing the song "she'll be coming round the mountain." It was great!

Jessie's taped tribute, which was HILARIOUS with some inside jokes, was played from the soundbooth.
Celia was very, very touched by it all.
And while we're talking about the audience spellers, let's not forget "The Gladiator" (due to his sandals) Jessie Caruso - who looked like a movie star (leading to a song line about him being the best-looking speller of the day), was funny getting into the spirit of it all, and had a really cute girlfriend sitting in the audience to boot! He was a winner...as was everyone else in this great send-off to a wonderful star!

Great to hear news about Celia's last show. How was the "I Love You Song" last night? I am looking forward to hearing some news about Les Mis rehearsals, and hopfully some photos of Celia and the rest of the cast.

Oh, yeah! Also, I'd completely forgotten/been unaware of how the cast- meaning Sarah- tailors the show to the current events. The mumbling Bush joke and something else were especially hilarious. Does anyone remember? I feel like it involves something overseas....it'll come back to me. Or a person....

Jesse's recorded message was funny when he introduced himself as "Barrett Foa's understudy"... and when he said that Celia's new role in "Les Miz" will play well with her "14-year-old-girl fanbase"...both got great laughs from a knowing audience.

Also, Lisa just shaking her head at herself after the "Cominroundthemountain" joke. Fabulous.

Celia is one of the top three stage-door sweethearts...right up there with John Tartaglia and Sutton Foster. Love her to bits!
