Change: The Full Monty....movie, Les Mis....movie

With all these new re-made movies for the musical (Hairspray, The Producers) and movies of musicals (POTO, Rent) shouldn't they remake The FUll MONTY into a movie-musical???

Les mis would be diffiult. I trust you saw the horrid interpretation of the book With Geoffery Rush (the only one I liked) and Claire Danes. As much as Id like to see a movie musical, Id be very afraid lol

It is A LOT better than the movie....

Listen to the CD (if you've never seen the show) with an open mind.....

I agree Barnaby. I think Miss Saigon would make a fantastic movie musical. But it couldn't be done by anyon who has preconceptions of how a movie musical should be done. Can you imagine: a musical set during Vietnam on screen without the benefit of the willing suspension of disbelief that we have in the theatre? Oy. The possibilities for disaster are everywhere! But if it was done by, say, oh, I don't know, Sam friggin Mendes!!!! then he would be able to extract the reality from the facade that usually comes with musicals. Let's face it folks, it's HARD to make musical films not be kitschy.
I'd love a Les Mis film BTW....
