She was also Terrence Mann's mother-in-law
Condolences to both...

How awful for Charlotte, Terrence, Christopher and the family, and for the dance world. And Charlotte is announced to be the Roxie in the "Chicago" tour when it comes to Chicago later this month. I hope she is able to do it!
Wasn't Charlottle supposed to start on Broadway tomorrow evening?

That is so sad. I send my condolences
Bump
Charlotte's father was in the famous ballet toward the end of the 1956 film version of CAROUSEL. He held a prominent position as a lead dancer in the New York City Ballet Company.
WOW! How weird, my local paper in New Jersey reported that Jacques had passed!
Missed this back in February.
Carolyn George was a legendarily beautiful dancer.

Missed this too, may she rest in peace.
Here's the dramatic story that became legenday, from the NY Times obituary:
===
In 1952 she returned to New York and appeared in musicals. She also auditioned for City Ballet, but was told she could join only after the company?s 1952 European tour. She made an unscheduled debut before the tour when she was pulled from the audience to replace an ill dancer in Balanchine?s "Swan Lake." Balanchine then invited her to join on tour.
Ms. George danced with City Ballet from 1952 and became a soloist in 1954. She married Mr. d?Amboise on New Year?s Day 1956 and left that year to give birth to their son George. She returned in 1958 but resigned the next year, when George was being treated for cancer.

They're quite an amazing family.

My thoughts are with the family.
One of the great love matches in ballet. Family was everything and the dance world their home. A life lived well. My condolences to the family.
Gosh, what a heartbreaker for the D'amboise family. And Terry's mother in law. A love match made in ballet heaven and their surviving spawn so successful in their own right. How did you all miss this in February. It was five column in the Times with a picture above the fold. Too busy bashing Charlotte then I guess, for her six performances a week Cassie. Now you know why. It was a long protracted illness. Golly, my thoughts and prayers are with the O'Neal family. Wait. They never married. Forget it.

^ I don't take the New York Times, and depending on what day of the week it was, I may not have been around BWW to see this.
