This looks interesting and I'm thinking about checking it out... has anyone gone? Anyone know about how long the dinner shows tend to be? Thanks!

I saw CHEF'S THEATER about two weeks ago when Tyler Florence was the guest chef and Michelle Pawk was the musical star. I enjoyed it very much. Tyler not only prepared a delicious rock cornish game hen with a vegetable puree, but he participated in the musical numbers as well. He joined the cast in a kickline and in the second half did a commendable job with Sinatra's "Summer Wind". It's no wonder that PEOPLE magazine named him "The Sexiest Chef Alive". While we were enjoying dinner, he went from table to table, chatting and posing for pictures with the patrons. He's extremely personable.
Michelle Pawk was in fine voice and did a medley of show tunes toward the end of the evening.
The whole show ran just under three hours.
Some cavils: the lighting is dramatically low, so bring a flashlight if you want to read the menu. Also the bar drinks are expensive. Ten dollars for a gin and tonic is a bit much--I could buy a whole bottle of off-brand gin for that price! Lastly, some of the original music is pretty lame, although there was a clever song about on-line chat rooms.
I think the success of CHEF'S THEATER depends on the quality of the guests. Much of the evening's pleasures came from Tyler and Michelle. Will Wolfgang Puck pick up a microphone and sing the way Tyler did? I can't imagine Julia Childs dancing in a kickline, either.
That sounds great...we def have to go! Has anyone been to one of the dessert shows, how are they?

I understand that CHEF'S THEATER is closing down for a few weeks so they can add new material and replace two of the "hosts". When It re-opens I hope they bring back Tyler as a guest chef.
Is Paige Price still going to host?

I tried finding the article I read on Playbill On Line, but it seems to have disappeared. I recall that Jim Walton was getting canned, but I don't recall what was happening with Paige Price.
Thanks for the info, DP.

You're most graciously welcomed! You know that the "milk of human kindness" throbs through my veins (before it turns to vinegar!)

I just learned that Paige Price is being retained in the revamped show. Jim Walton was really the only one to get canned (or was it freeze dried? It's hard to tell with a cooking show.)
