Does anyone know where I could find any pictures/videos of her on the German tour/ the other production she did of the show?
kthx.
Are you talking about Kristen Chenowith??? She played Christine? As in christine from phantom?????
Yes, but not the phantom we're thinking of. She was in the Yeston/Kopit version. It's a musical, but it's not the ALW show you're thinking about.
I love Kristin, but if she were Christine in the ALW production anywhere, I think I'd have to run screaming from the theatre.
I'd like to see chew her way through Carlotta, though.
she would be a great carlotta! i never thought of that. hysterical.
I did the Kopit/Yeston Phantom in the first regional production and loved it - it is so much better than the Lloyd Webber version. I think Kristin has a lovely voice for Christine, but the idea of her playing Carlotta is particularly interesting. Her comic timing would be pretty damned good. Our Carlotta stole the show every night. It's such a fun show to be a part of.
If I remember correctly I read somewhere that she did indeed was in the ALW Phantom of The Opera in Germany but she doesn't put that on her resume.
She would make an AMAZING carlotta. She should have been in the movie---at least she can actually sing the part *hmm mmm Minnie Driver * (she was good in the part, its just that you could tell it wasn't her singing, especially during Primma Donna when the lip synching was REALLY off)

No she was not good in the role. No one was good in that movie...except maybe Patrick Wilson...and Carlotta's dog.
I was trying to look at the positive, youre completely right. Besides Patrick Wilson, the cast really should have been legit stage actors, who are familiar with music as a form of expression. This would have made the entire movie more, well, enjoyable.
