Chess - 2008 Concert/Josh Groban preview

Well. Kind of.

Josh Groban's new album - A collection has "Anthem" from the upcoming CD recording. I personally don't like it at all - I'm not a big fan but I didn't notice he had this annoying vibrato until now {maybe It's not on some of his other studio recordings}. At least it appears to be quite good quality for a live performance though.

If you see the ad for his album it also has some footage from the upcoming DVD of him singing Anthem - which actually looked really good.

Both won't be released until "Spring 09" according to the chessinconcert.com website.

I was actually quite surprised to be underwhelmed by him in the role during the Actor's Fund Concert...I can't quite explain it, but while he had some nice moments, he seemed bored and sounded a bit just tired...very little nuance or character within the voice. I was most impressed with Adam Pascal, who I was sure would be in a vocal intensive care unit by now.
