Chicago Lyric Opera's Show Boat to be radio broadcast/webstreamed Saturday 6/23/12

New York's classical radio station WQXR is broadcasting the widely acclaimed recent production of Show Boat by the Chicago Lyric Opera Saturday afternoon (6/23) at 1:00pm as part of its weekly Saturday afternoon opera series.

WQXR is located at 105.9 on the FM dial but is often hard to pick up even in the city because it is no longer a high powered station. It webstreams its broadcasts 24/7, however, in several different high quality formats from its website at wqxr.org (note .org not .com).

Can't wait.

Rarely bump my own posts but the broadcast starts in less than an hour for anyone who will enjoy this as much as I expect to and didn't see the post above. Always a rare treat to hear Russell Bennett's orchestrations in performance played by a full orchestra.
