Chicago RUSH policy

I was just curious about the Chicago RUSH policies. I checked out what they were on playbill.com and talkinbroadway.com
I know it is a general rush and the price. It says that the tickets are "subject to availability". So, my question is...
Does this mean that whatever tickets are available when the box office opens (it says 2 and a half hours before curtain) are considered "General Rush"? They did not say how many tickets are available each day, so I am correct assuming that they dont have a row set aside for rush?
If anyone has done it before any information would be greatly appreciated!

Posted: 2/5/05 at 3:18pmWhen I did rush last year the tickets were the last seats on the far left or right sides, starting from first row. You miss a little of the side view and get a profile view, basically, of the whole show, but it's a great way to see the show so close. If you've never seen the show, you could see if they have Standing Room tickets. Then you can get a better view of the acting and dancing.

So is that the designated RUSH seats or just the ones you ended up with?

Posted: 2/6/05 at 12:40amHmmm thanks. I am deciding between DRS and Chicago. I guess I'll try the DRS lotto first and then head to Chicago if I don't get it.

Posted: 2/6/05 at 7:08amI think the ones I spoke about are the designated rush seats. Last time I went was in November. When I went earlier in the year those were the same seat locations as well.

Yes, the rush seats are located on the sides of the orchestra. Those are the seats designated for rush.
You need to get to the box office around 7:30 or 8am and wait on line until 10am when the BO opens and then you can purchase your tickets.
Brenda Braxton is returning to the company a week from tomorrow -- one day after Brent and Terra both leave the broadway company.

Posted: 2/6/05 at 6:20pmI actually don't know off the top of my head. Brent was out yesterday though and Bernard Dotson was on as Billy.

Posted: 2/6/05 at 7:51pmI did not like Bernard Dotson when I saw him as Billy. I know it is great that he gets to play it, but he kind of seemed unenthusiastic about it, and it was almost like he was reading from a board,a dn not acting.

He doesn't go on very often.
Personally, I much preferred it when the understudy track for Billy was Michael Kubala and Shawn Emamjomeh
