It's a general rush. Don't listen to the websites.
The seats are usually off to the side. But it doesn't make a difference, since CHICAGO is performed as a concert. You won't really miss anything.

When I rushed Chicago back when Brooke Shields was Roxie, we got tickets on the way way side of the front mezzanine. They were pretty bad (The Ambassador is notorious for bad sightlines.), but luckily the usher let us change to a more centered location right before the show because there were a lot of empty seats.
Since I know the show is selling pretty well with John O'Hurley right now though, there might not be the room to switch. Proceed with caution! Either way, I wasn't impressed with the show.

I did the general rush when Brooke was in it, as well. I got two seats in the second row, extreme left, but it was a Sunday matinee in early September, and the mezzanine was barely 1/3 full. My wife and I moved up to second row center mezz, a very good location to view the show from. Also, regarding rush: You'll want to get to the theatre at least one hour before the box office opens.
I remember the good old days when CHICAGO's rush was in the front row, center.
