Ok so I went into the city to see Chicago... I did standing room tickets...let me tell you...you have a great view...but be ready to have sore feat when your done haha...
The audience was dead tonight....all the jokes went right over their heads...I almost felt awkward laughing cause I was the only one...
Brenda Braxton-She did an amaizing job...I loved her Velma Kelly...also she is so beautiful!!! She also has an amaizing voice!!
Michelle DeJean-I loved her Roxie...she was so good...great voice and wow she's a great actress!!!
Jeff McCarthy- I liked him in the role of Billy Flynn...he acted it well...and what a strong voice.
Aida Turturro- i was surprised when shebegan to sing..cause I did not think she could...but man she blew me away...she was so funny...but most of the audience just did not get her jokes in "When Your Good to Mamma"...but what ever..she was good to me..
Vincent Pastore- he did nothing for me...i felt he was boring and not very good in this role...and he can't sing...which is not such a big deal...but it couldn't hurt...
Overall the whole cast did a great job...this show is in excellent shape and also the ensemble was so strong...I was glad to see that!!
brenda was good when i saw the show in june..she has been with the show for soo long though..and i saw bianca marroquin (sp?)
she was fabulous as roxie
Wow, Brenda Braxton has been there for a long time. She was good, though. Michelle DeJean is my favorite Roxie.
Jeff McCarthy has a great baritone voice. It's nice to see a real singer in the role again.
How difficult is student rush for this show?
I think Chicago does a general rush...so you gotta get there early...i went and the whole show was sold out that why I had to stand...and there was seriously not an open seat anywhere..

I've seen Chicago twice in the past 2 weeks and I have to agree with your whole review.
Vincent Pastore of whatever his name was as Amos was the only weak spot in the show. No, he could not sing. But, as he walked onto the stage the first time, all you heard in the audience, both times I went, was "that's him, that's him, that's the guy from sopranos! Is it really? Are you sure? Yes that's him that's him!!"
So people were obviously wild to see him there on stage, but then you could tell their enthusiasm dropped with a thud as he went on with Mr. Cellophane. As it was clear he wasnt going to get any better, and he wasnt just sort of joking at first that he really was just a shmuck up there. By the end of the song, he just received a lukewarm applause, which is all he deserved.

Shmuck... good word to use in a review... and im NOT scarcastic! haha :P
Thanks for the review. It nice to have a new topic of conversation, and no one really talks about Chicago anymore...except to speculate on its closing date.
The OBC is a staple in my rotation.
no problem...i had seen it back in 2004 and thought it was time to revisit..and I was very happy...the show was in such good, strong shape...
