Ok, my family grew up on this film starring Dick Van Dyke and Sally Ann Howles all throughout my childhood. We watched it more than Mary Poppins or any other film. When I first heard it was in the West End I couldn't wait for it to come to broadway. Once it got here I of course saw it within the first week of previews. It was funny, cute, exciting... and besides some small errors I overall really enjoyed the stage musical. I mean Marc Kudisch and Jan Maxwell are hysterical. It's the perfect family musical and if I would have saw this at the age of 9 it would have blown me away. This of course all comes from the love I have of the movie version. And besides some added numbers like the Salsa Tango and the song the Childcatcher sings, it pretty much follows the movie pretty well. Also, the set design was amazing. I really liked it. Isn't there anyone on here who can agree that it's a great family musical? I for one am a big fan!

I had never seen the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but I saw it on Broadway last week and I liked it. There were alot of families with their children.

Its a perfect family show.

Does the movie CCBB have musical numbers?

I adore Chitty and I adore the cast...and plan on taking my younger sister quite soon

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

I saw it in London when it opened ( with a nephew who grew up on the movie a day after we went to the Monaco Grand Prix - he does love cars!) and loved it --

And saw it again on Broadway - with two nieces who grew up on the movie ( and, up to now, knows the lyrics to the music re: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang)

It is a family entertainment type of show !

It's a great family musical. I saw it during its first week of previews as well and enjoyed it very much. In a time when being rude and cynical is the "in" thing to be, this show is a breath of fresh air.

And yes, CCBB the movie has musical numbers. Most of the same numbers that are featured in to Broadway musical.

I for one enjoyed it as well. It has the right balance between spectacle and heart. And as for the current fashion to critizise the Sherman Bros. score of it, I don't agree at all. It's no bad thing to provide such a catchy score. Yes, not all songs are up to the level but so what. And after all it has Raul Esparza re: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Chitty was my favorite movie when I was little. I am so excited it is now a musical. I am going to NY see it soon and simply can't wait! I also can't wait to see Mr. Esparza! It is wonderful to hear he is getting even better in the role.

Even though I'm stuck in Georgia for the summer, I too heart me some Chitty. And of course some Raul Esparza. And miss them both... It's one of the first things I'm gonna see when I get reconnected with the Broadway community.

I <3 the Sherman Brothers, you could say I am obsessed with them and their work. I was never a huge fan of the movie, and prefer some of their other work, but I'm hoping to one day see this musical to see my beloved composers' songs performed on the Great White Way. re: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
