Chitty Flub at "Broadway at Broadway"

When the wonderful ensemble of "Chitty Chitty" began performing the title song on Sunday afternoon, the voices were not heard for the first few lines. It might have been a technical problem. Was I the only attendee who noticed it? It seemed that the cast realized the flub as they looked embarrassed.

Actually, Spelling Bee had to start over because half their mics were not working. Did not notice that Chibby flub though.

I thought Chitty's mics were fine, but that may have been because I was close enough to hear them regardless.

There was a line flub during CCBB that Raul caught and commented on, but other than that, they were fine. They looked a bit awkward performing the song out of context, though.

Hey, stuff can happen! Read the Message about Cherry Jones in Doubt... tough, tough crowd... Remember, it was a free performance, on an unfamiliar stage, without proper staging or rehearsal, etc... Seeing Chitty for the 3rd time on Wednesday! Love that show! GO CHITTY GO!!!!!

Don't get me wrong -- I'm so not knocking them. I love the show, I love the cast, and I've seen it way too many times. They were absolutely adorable!

Raul sang his line "Your seats are a featherbed..." and then Julie sang the same line again. Come to think of it, I don't know if it was his mistake or hers, but it's supposed to go "you're sleek as a thoroughbred, your seats are a featherbed..."

So Raul looks around after Julie's line and goes "like I just said!"

*sigh* I love Raul. He just look like he was having fun. It did seem a bit awkward for them to sing that song without being in the car, but it was so much fun to watch them. And the fact that he isn't perfect, is such a relief.
