I was at the evening performance last night (5/12) and I did notice that Ebersole appeared to be holding back her voice in some of the dialogue, but not in the songs. She sounded absolutely wonderful to me, especially in "Around the World."
I have to say that I wasn't overwhelmed with the show as a whole; in some ways it seems to be almost a cult thing--there were people in the audience laughing when she said or did certain things that I just didn't think were all that funny--all I could assume was that it was something from the documentary that she was doing, and they were applauding her accuracy? I guess for me it was another show in which several of the leads were wonderful (Ebersole, Mary Louise Wilson, and the actress who played "Little" Edie in the first act) but as a show, it just didn't grab me that much.

I saw it last week again. She was as wonderful as ever. The show was in great shape. Here's to a clean sweep at the Tonys! (That won't happen, though.)
I wouldn't say no way Audra would win. Donna has no way. I'd put it at about 90% Christine, 10% Audra.

Christine Ebersole has a full plate. She did a Grey Gardens cd signing a few days ago, with the main cast, and also sang 2 songs. A few days rest should do her good.
