Christine Ebersole, one of the few remaining female musical stars possessing a genuine legit voice, is fittingly the only Broadway star invited to appear at the coming Carnegie Hall Opening Gala, entitled "Bernstein: the Best of all Possible Worlds". She certainly has the talent to hold her own among the great classical musicians with whom she will perform.
The following is the notice from Sunday's NY Times special edition:
"Bernstein: the Best of all Possible Worlds" is the opening Gala of the Carnegie Hall season, featuring the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra with Michael Tilson-Thomas, cond., a Bernstein protege, celebrating what would have been Bernstein's 90th year. Artists on the program: Dawn Upshaw, Christine Ebersole, Thomas Hampson, Yo-Yo Ma.
