Today 21/12 18:30 Oliver Twist CH4
Christmas Day 12:45 Oklahoma BBC2
Boxing Day 13:25 South Pacific BBC2
Boxing Day 15:25 Mary Poppins ITV1

Hoping to find Shrek on, as never have seen it, unfortunately Shrek 2 and wanted to see if they had a good theatre documentary on,about Phantom or Les Mis etc.

re: Christmas Theatre TV

The 39 Steps is on at some point as well..
but when i flicked through the Christmas TV mag, there were so many musicals on, i was quite shocked!

re: Christmas Theatre TV

LSam, I know you are young, but do not think this is unusual for so many musicals to be on at Crimbo and the usual 5 versions of Christmas Carol/Scrooge.

re: Christmas Theatre TV

I know it is not a musical or show, but there is a west end special of Weakest Link on 28th Decemeber!

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Phantom, 1) my age doesn't matter, and the comment was very patronising 2) please don't attempt to make me feel like an idiot, because it's not nice.

i know there's musicals on at Christmas (as well as various versions of ACC) but there's maybe the odd one, like The Sound of Music, i was simply refering to the fact, when grouped together it looks like there are more than the average ammount this year.

But because im under 18, obviously this comment should just be ignored so no one feel obliged to read it.

(ps. Phantom of the Opera is on Film4 over the comming weeks)
(pps. If you didn't mean do make me sound like an idiot or like i was 5 years old, i appologise for my rant)

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Doctor Who is my Xmas highlight! I'll be looking forward to see David Tennant run around again... Sorry about that, back on topic, The 39 Steps is going to be the best of the show related things!

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Doctor Who....ugh :P

i've always looked foward to it, but i just don't think this special looks all that good..?

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Who cares about the story, DAVID TENNANT'S IN IT! Is That Not Enough For You People!!!!

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Sam, you are a young man and admire your input and knowledge on here and would not want to patronise you, far from it. I was using your age to get a irony out that the TV roles out same sort of thing every year, it definitely was not to rib, patronise, embarrass you, or belittle you. So if it offended you and in the meantime keep the posts up on here.

re: Christmas Theatre TV

On Christmas day on Sky Arts 1, they are showing Cirque du Soleil, Dralion, which I have seen on a earlier showing and it is excellent.

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Dr Who doesn't excite me very much this year for Christmas because the story was lifted from one of the CD Dramas that came out a good 2-3 years ago and originally featured Colin Baker (who really shines on audio thanks to FAR better writers than he had on the telly.)

re: Christmas Theatre TV

David Tennant isn't all that... *waits for backlash*
Yeh he's a good actor, but i really do find him, almost annoying sometimes, i mean he's no...well...Me re: Christmas Theatre TV

And Phantom, it all makes sense now, the original post just read a little different, to what was meant, appologies for going off on a rant :) meery christmas everyone.

re: Christmas Theatre TV

The really awesome two-parter with the scarecrows was lifted from an earlier Who story though, and that didn't lessen the episodes any. :P

I do like David Tennant, and being the Who n00b that I am he will always be "my" Doctor, but while I'm fond of him, I could survive quite well without him. Indeed, the world seems to turn a little smoother without him, what with all the 'Doctor Who' fangirls returning their 'Hamlet' tickets thus allowing me to see it more times than originally anticipated. re: Christmas Theatre TV

I am shocked and appalled that 'The 39 Steps' is not actually Boxing day! They've moved it to the 28th! I'm still looking forward to it though. re: Christmas Theatre TV

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Oh, he is a good actor, but I only watch it to see him, I think I am the first "male" fangirl!
#17

re: Christmas Theatre TV

ooh Conaries...believe me there are plenty of male Fangirls out there...you're not alone!

39 Steps seems much more of a Sunday evening thing i feel, i think it suits ther 28th.

re: Christmas Theatre TV

Well as I said, I use the term male loosely!

Yes, sorry, back to topic! 39 steps really will be my highlight, that and seeing Dianne Pilkington as Glinda on Weakest Link!
