Posted: 10/11/04 at 12:58amHow sad. He worked so hard to come back from his tragic accident and had so much faith that he would eventually walk again. Yes, he will be missed. My sympathy to his family.

That is so sad. I met him at a few New York Rangers hockey games and he was always so sweet. He will be missed.

Posted: 10/11/04 at 12:59amThe same day he opened an adaptation of The Marriage of Figaro on Broadway back in 1986. He will be dearly missed. It's unbelievable what a man in his predicament was able to do with his life.

Posted: 10/11/04 at 1:00amI hope this isn't true. Didn't Kerry just mention him on Friday in regards to stem cell research? I'm seriously hoping this is just a rumor. If it isn't my thoughts and prayers are with his family. How incredibly tragic. I hope that there will be others helping to live out his legacy and encourage us that we can overcome anything.

The first three words that come to mind are, "I'm so sorry."
The next three words are "STEM CELL RESEARCH!"
The next three..."What a Superman."

Posted: 10/11/04 at 8:52amWhat an inspiration his life became! One look at him, and what he drove himself to accomplish after his accident, and most of our everyday problems seem pretty insignificant. My grandfather always said that adversity brings out the true measure of a man...and in Christopher Reeve's case that adversity showed us an incredible will to overcome odds, an unshakeable will to live a life of value, and an extraordinary empathy for the plight of others. His emphasis on stem-cell research, research that arguably was unlikely to help his own condition, only underscores his drive to do the right thing for others. His loss will leave a void difficult to fill.
