Did anyone see this? I'm doomed to the West Coast where we only have the occasional and temporary great theater production. I'd love to hear about this show and what people thought about it. Comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Update: sorry guys, nevermind. Didn't realize the thread with "Cinderella National Tour" included the staging at the City Opera!

Posted: 12/3/04 at 5:36pmI saw it around the start of its run at NY City Opera. Lots of talent, performances made mostly of lead. I blame the director/choreographer, Baayork Lee, for not making better use of such people as Eartha Kitt, Ana Gasteyer, Lea De Laria, John "Lypsinka" Epperson, Dick Van Patten, and Renee Taylor, not to mention Christopher Siebert and the lovely Sarah Uriarte Berry. The dances were strictly "peasants in the square on market day" when they weren't "formal patterned court dances". Oh, well, there were lots of kids there, mostly little girls, and they seemed to enjoy it. Me, I'm an adult male musical lover, and I didn't.
