I was wondering.... I know many actors will tell you being on the stage was what they wanted to do from birth.Yet, I'm sure others fell into it, or were pursuing other career paths . I'm not talking about waitressing, to survive while struggling to be cast.
Do you know of any stage actors who were in med. school or at MIT, or something very different before bitten by the acting bug?

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but according to his Rent bio, Mark Richard Ford received a BA in Accounting from Morehouse College before performing with various theatre companies.
