Who else is going? What are you all wearing? I know it's a gala, so obviously attire is dressy, but that really spans a pretty wide spectrum. I'm nervous about being over or under dressed.

May this be my most shallow post in recent memory.

I'm going!

And I hadn't even thought of what to wear. Sadly, I'll be coming right from work where as you know I'm not about to dress up, so I'll just be normal ol' me. I think unless you have prime orchestra seats and are ready to "be seen" it doesn't matter what you wear.

I feel like I should at least put on a dress, but it might be strange to go as far as, say, black-tie attire.

Girl, don't even worry about it. As long as you're not in a wife beater and jogging pants, I think you'll be good.

I was planning on wearing a nice dress, but now I'm rethinking.

You know, come to think of it, I think I am going to wear a wife beater and jogging pants. And Uggs.

there was someone at the Lincoln Center wearing a Spring Awakening tshirt and track pants.

At least wear your Pacific Overtures shirt.

And that's normally how you go to work? I'm sure your coworkers avoid you all day.

Is it Angela Lansbury Lovett or more of a Patti LuPone Lovett?

It's a combo of the two. I dress like Angela but overact it like Patti. It confuses people which I like. Kinda like Boy George in the beginning.

And isn't Taboo one of Steve's favorite shows ever?

Casual but up.

Relaxed but chic.

You really only need to wear black tie if you're going to the reception after.

My rule of thumb for these kinds of things is to dress up just enough that you feel good about looking good.

I'll be in the balcony with 3 friends and the fanciest we'll be is shirt and tie, probably not jacket or suit.

Here's a question for you: How would you like to be dressed if you run into [FILL IN YOUR FAVORITE SONDHEIM STAR] in the lobby during intermission and end up having a 5-minute conversation?

It's why everyone should have the equivalent of Audrey Hepburn's Little Black Dress.

He did like TABOO. I think he said his favorite show was THE WIZ so we could all dress up from that show if you want.

PJ, I think that's good advice, and what I was thinking about going for.

and Jordan, I'm trying to make some ~edgy~ comment about blackface, but it keeps coming out as tacky as comments about blackface often do.

That is what I was thinking, PJ.

I have several little black dresses! It's hard to choose which to wear! City Center Sondheim concert
