I've recently come across some clips of old Tony Awards. My greatest find is this gem, Mary Martin's acceptance speech for "Sound of Music" in 1960:

Have you seen any vintage Tony clips like this? Please share. (I don't think it's considered a bootleg, since it's TV, but I don't know.)

I remember finding Irene Worth's speech for Tiny Alice in 1965 but I haven't been able to find it recently. As far as tony performances goes Broadway"s Lost Treasure Part 1,2 and 3 have some gems. Some of them are fairly modern but some date back to 1957.

I once found Angela Lansbury performing "The Worst Pies in London" from 1979.

Ah, yes, I love that series. I've seen quite a bit from them. They also have great older interviews with Sondheim and Hal Prince.

rorschach We are lucky to have 2 different clips of Angela doing that. One from the tony awards with Len Cariou (as seen on bways lost treasure part 1) and one from the recorded version with George Hearn.

Oh honey, you do know that 97 percent of BroadwayWorld.com has no clue who Mary Martin is, right?

But if you want to know if the 7th swing at Wicked is or why 9 to 5: The Musical is the greatest musical of the last 20 years, this is the place for you!

Dear, why don't you go and have a nice macaroon and a sit down somewhere far away?

This is one of my favorites. It's Sondheim accepting his Tonys for Company.
