It's one thing to be the whore, it's another thing to be the main whore. Ask anybody. Actually, the "main whore" in Lovely Ladies is a nice big cameo with several solo lines and a good "dramatic" exchange with Fantine. The other good chorus part for a woman is the main factory worker. (Actually, I think two of them do the majority of the singing with her.) Good sparring partners for Fantine, and it will be some nice screen time.
