I heard that Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child is Shug Avery on the tour... Is that true?

Yes, Michelle will play Shug Avery in the Natl. Tour. They began rehersal today in Chicago.

While Michelle Williams is extremely talented (and was a better Aida than she got credit for,) I can't see her in the role of Shug at all. She comes off as very meek and mild to me, where as I see Shug as someone who defines sheer boldness and ferocity.

Hopefully it works out for the best. I'm deffinetly looking forward to seeing this company!

OK NOW! it was cute and I was all for it at first but stunt casting is starting to piss me off! Oh well let me not get upset cause I don't have to by a ticket. This will just be interesting. I guess I can't get mad at Michelle she can actually sing, not too sure about her acting. But I can gurantee that she will have nothing on Elizabeth. that lady is the truth!

Going to a musical late in its run is like going to a prostitute late in her shift.
