Wondering about the stage height for Come From Away at the Schoenfeld.
For those who have seen previous stagings, how high was the deck? From what I've heard, it's a very intimate and simple production, so I'd assume that there would be no need for tracks and other mechanics that would raise the deck.
And as for the Schoenfeld itself, I don't think I've sat real close, but I don't seem to recall a high stage.
Would you buy tickets in the second row?
There are no elaborate settings it an open turntable w simple Tables & chairs and as required props. Occ signage but easily visible. The back wall is done as slats which DO open as doors/hatches and occ scenes take place in that area and might be a bit of a stretch to see from the 2nd row.
OTH- you are close to a great Ceilidh style band. It is 100 full minutes ( a break would ruin the flow so GO to the washroom B4 the show and don't drink too much from the bar)
Thanks. That's a great help. I would imagine that the turntable adds some height to the deck and not really being a fan of Irish folk music, perhaps further back would be best for us.
1) it's more Folk/Rock.
2) the band is split. 1/2 in upstage l corner 1/2 in the R w one major exception- "Screech In".
Just to add my two cents... every show I've seen with a turntable deck has a significantly higher stage so I'd definitely advise to go further back. Can't speak for this production obviously but that is just my experience.
