I noticed that on TDF, it states all tix will be in the mezz, but I'm hearing the rush is finally getting easier and I ran into someone Wednesday who got great orchestra seats rushing at 9:30 AM so I'm thinking that may be a better option. Anyone? Sounds like an intimate show and that closer would be better...

I did TDF 3 times and twice was in the Orchestra, full view, despite the note on the website that says tickets are in the Mezz. The third time i was in row C of the Mezz, awesome seats. From what I have heard, rush seats are extreme sides of the orchestra so I would definitely recommend TDF - better seats and don't have to wake up early.

I know the rush for the Schoenfeld is pretty consistently the partial view seats on the far sides of the mezz or the orchestra. TDF is generally used as "filler" so you could easily end up with an orchestra seat.
