Yo Broadwayworld dudes and ladies!
Just wanted to let everyone know about a show of mine that's happening tonight at The Zipper. It's a theatrical rock concert of my tunes... sort of like a stage version of a concept album that never existed in the first place.
Anyway, I don't know if its any good but its entertaining, loud, funny and sad and not at all boring. Come check it out!

Here's all the info:
THE NEW YORK TIMES on Things To Ruin:
"Music that kicks 1960's-style pop tunefulness with hard post-punk beats."
"Makes caustic fun of a money-driven world on the rocks."
"Mr. Iconis recalls the excitement that...surrounded Marc Shaiman, Mr. [Jonathan] Larson, and Jason Robert Brown."
-Stephen Holden, The New York Times
VARIETY on Things To Ruin:
"It's so much fun that it's a little overwhelming- "transporting" is probably the best word!"
"A welcome interruption to the Off Broadway musical scene."
"Iconis seems hell-bent on finding all the commonly shared emotional moments that nobody else has yet set to music..."
-Sam Thielman, Variety
THINGS TO RUIN is an incendiary collection of songs by Kleban and Larson Award Winner Joe Iconis, (writer of THE BLACK SUITS.) Directed by John Simpkins, T2R is a theatrical rock concert about human beings who are messy, emotional, drugged up, knocked down, inspired, electric and who don't have nearly enough time to cause the kind of commotion they so desperately need to. Performed by a cast of viciously talented young singers and a highly flammable four-piece band led by Joe himself, 'Things to Ruin' rocks with an occasionally profane and always heartfelt explosion of music and high drama.

Went to the show tonight and it was pretty awesome. Can I just say how orgasmic the end of "Headshot" was with all three girls... and I was thrilled "Son of a Gun" was on the set list, because it's quickly become one of my new favorite songs. The band was also in fine form (per usual). I brought someone who had never heard Iconis music before and she had a great time. Any chance there's a consolation prize for attending these last two shows and bringing 2-3 friends to each performance? I'd settle for just a recording (which is really exciting news, by the way).

I can't wait for Joe's album. He really is the one to watch.
