Why are you apologizing for #10?

It's "Tonys" not "Tonies."

You forgot about the Barrymore Theatre...
I hear they are trying to revive a famous Williams play there...

Variety is not always right. I know "La Cage" ticket sales are still pretty decent...I don't see a closure too soon. Especially if the show takes in some awards...or if they find DYNAMITE replacements.

Lots of openings mean lots of oppurtunities for new shows (and by that, I of course mean few actually new shows).
I keep passing the Billboard for the "Nokia theatre" in the city and I finally saw someone come out of it yesterday and light a cigarette. I asked what was going on with it and she said that, so far, Nokia has purchased that unused theatre space and want to tear everything out of the inside and build a completely new and contemporary Broadway theatre.
Now, I don't know how trustworthy this woman's words were but she did seem to be involved with it because she went right back inside after I talked to her...so I guess we'll see.

There are NO available theatres right now; The cancellation of Sweet Charity brought on a flurry of people looking for the Hirshfeld. You therefore have to write a list of shows that "might" be closing "soon" (Meaning in 8-10 weeks). Wow you must be a load of fun. I can see you getting a puppy and moping "Yeah, it's cute now, but it will likely be dead in 15 years." There is a life cycle of every show. Right now Broadway is very healthy- better than it's been in years. Don't be such a whiner.
As Grandma used to say "Any mule can kick down a barn."
The Nokia Theatre will be a rock concert hall, not a Broadway theatre. We ARE getting a new Henry Miller's Theatre in 2008, though.
This thing seems to happen every year. It's the cycle of Broadway. New shows have to open among past seasons hits in only 39 theatres. So of course many shows will have to close to make way for new shows.
I oughta smack that lady...I was so excited.
Ah well...take extra care with strangers.
Here's an article about it.
