If unsold they eventually get released back into inventory. I believe 72 hours in advance.

Maybe the end up lottery seats? I know my mean girls lottery tickets were accessible seats and I didn’t request any accommodations.

In general, I believe they wouldn’t release them until the show is sold out otherwise per the ADA.

Most accessible seating converts to regular seating a day or two in advance of the show.

There are laws about ADA seating (companion seats included) that state that they can’t be released as regular seating until certain circumstances are reached. The show being sold out or a certain amount of time until the performance, which I can’t remember exactly right off the top of my head.
