Let's completely recast some long and not-so-long runners on Broadway. The only rule is that you cannot cast anyone who has ever played the role before, and you have to cast people who would realistically ever take those roles.

Jennifer Holliday played Matron "Mama" Morton before in 2001.

Cheyenne Jackson as Prince Eric
Terrence Mann as King Triton
Dude, I love both of these guys... but I don't think they'd be the best choice. Cheyenne Jackson just doesn't have that innocent, boyish vibe, though his voice is gorgeous and his legs would look fantastic in Eric's costume. I think that if he were to play a role in a (now-closed) Disney show, he'd be a brilliant Radames or a great Gaston, but I'm not sure Eric would be the best for him. And while Terrence Mann would vocally be absolutely perfect for Triton... would ANYONE want to see him with his shirt off? Maybe in his dancer days twenty-plus years ago when he played the Rum Tum Tugger, but he's fifty-seven years old and looks even older.
Kerry Butler would be a GREAT Roxie, though.
