THE MONEYMAN, 1996.
Jason wrote this, ballet actually, prior to SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. It's about Michael Miliken and Wall Street in the '80s. He discarded the book and when last heard he was waiting for a new one. It has not been recorded nor produced, to my knowledge.
Prior to SONGS, as Arranger/Orchestrator he is associated with
A NEW BRAIN, 1998
JOHN & JEN, 1996
NEW YORK ROCK, 1995.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news Bulldog, but you're wrong!
Jason's first show was called "Invocations" and was produced by a summer camp called French Woods Festival. I don't remember the exact date unfotunately, but it was definately before anything else that he's written. Oh, and Bulldog, sorry to throw this in your face, but Songs for a New World was first technically. The Moneyman was a project that was ongoing, and "She Cries" from SFANW was actually started in 1992.
Thanks for all the info! I am a big JRB fan and am pleased to learn something new about him.

OK.
Does this mean I should start including summer camp shows in the quizzes? ![]()

Well technically, it was his first produced show! So it counts!
