Recently, the one that really sticks out is Marie's Costume in Cinderella. The dress we saw on the Parade was much more whimsical and connected her to the crazy woman better. I also prefer its headpiece and wig more. Sigh.

Posted: 6/12/13 at 4:06pmI just detest the new headpiece. The original was better. I hate the other-it looks like Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

Posted: 6/12/13 at 4:25pmWhat's funny is as soon as I saw this topic- Victoria's dress popped into my head- the original just had soo much more detail and colors to it- while the current one is really rather simple, boring and plain, it's nothing special or stand out- it's just a pink dress. Really don't understand why they changed it.

Posted: 6/12/13 at 4:29pmI mean just look at the use of pleating in the first dress, impeccable.

Posted: 6/12/13 at 4:37pmThe original dress also echoes the rags that Maria wears before the transformation better.

I think it's important to remember that the costumes for the Parade were cobbled together just so that the cast could wear something on TV.
It was very early in the production and what was used for the Parade was probably never meant to be used on stage.

Posted: 6/12/13 at 5:52pmThen it seems funny to me that the costume that they 'Cobbled' together is much more detailed in design then what became the finished product.

Posted: 6/12/13 at 9:26pmI distinctly remember people complaining about the first costume. I like both, but I think her current one is less distracting.

Posted: 6/12/13 at 9:41pmBernadette looks FABULOUS in ANYTHING!!!!!! But I SOOOOOOOOO much more liked her red dress at the Kennedy Center than her pink dress in New York!!!! In fact, I think she should have had a dress of a different color for EVERY day of the WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted: 6/13/13 at 1:46amThey may have made a new costume for the Tony performance but it's different from the one shown in the pictures. It's more detailed and has more pleated panels. I do agree that the one originally shown during the parade was much prettier. However, I was told in another thread that it still made an appearance at some point in the show. Can anyone confirm this?

When I saw the parade dress the first time, my only thought was, "That would take a lot of work to maintain those pleats!"
One wrong move at the cleaners at good bye pleats!

Posted: 6/13/13 at 3:00amJanet Dacal's costumes got progressively worse as WONDERLAND's development went on. They changed the original because one reviewer said her red dress made her look like a grown-up run-away Annie, but the Pink dress did everything but look good for her.

Posted: 6/13/13 at 1:58pmI loved Bernadette's costume in NY, but I really loved Victoria's blue/teal dress in the LA production of Follies. But I much preferred Bernadette's Losing My Mind Dress.

Posted: 6/13/13 at 2:03pmNot so much pre vs post previews, but I definitely preferred Steve Kazee's "Guy" costume than the new red and blue flannel shirt. It looks like they're really just trying to get the hipster crowd in.
