Hopefully he doesn't go the Ray Bolger route and sing a medley of RENT hits after his curtain call.

Sure it could. It could also be the next DUDE. Or SOUL DOCTOR. Or MARAT/SADE. Or THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING. Or FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. No one's seen it yet. It could be anything!

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

I think Kitt and Yorkey know a little bit more about musicals, and how to write them, than Galt McDermot and Gerome Ragni. DUDE, I think not. Maybe THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN? Though I hope not!

If/Then will certainly be the next FUNNY GIRL, following in the tradition of PACIFIC OVERTURES, the FUNNY GIRL of 1976, GRAND HOTEL, the FUNNY GIRL of 1989, and XANADU, the FUNNY GIRL of 2007.

Is it unusual for major casting (such as Rapp) like this to occur so close to opening (I/T opens in DC in early November) and with a Broadway theatre already committed ... or is three months enough time to get the show together for the [out-of-town] performances in front of an audience?

BTW, I have tix for 17Nov2013 in DC.

BARBRA was a star by the time Funny Girl happened. I venture to say a bigger star than Indina Menzel. Everyone knew BARBRA, the girl with the nose" NOT "oh, that's the green girl, what's her name
