Um, I think that you MUST be joking, but just in case you're not, "Mame" began life as a best-selling novel by Patrick Dennis, and, a couple of years later, was adapted into a very successful play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee starring Rosalind Russell. The property was then adapted into a popular film with Russell. There are many who find the musical inferior to the original play.

I never saw the play but I did see the movie with Rosalind Russell and the musical with Angela Lansbury. I liked the movie version much better as I thought the relationship between Patrick and Auntie Mame was better portrayed.
