Well, could it?
Please tell me this is a joke.
Auntie Mame is the play Mame is based on.

Um, I think that you MUST be joking, but just in case you're not, "Mame" began life as a best-selling novel by Patrick Dennis, and, a couple of years later, was adapted into a very successful play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee starring Rosalind Russell. The property was then adapted into a popular film with Russell. There are many who find the musical inferior to the original play.

LOL
I started to answer this, then I saw.
I'm one of the people who find the musical way inferior to the play. The play is incredible.
South Fl Marc, there are many people who think the play is superior to the musical. So you are definitely not alone.

I never saw the play but I did see the movie with Rosalind Russell and the musical with Angela Lansbury. I liked the movie version much better as I thought the relationship between Patrick and Auntie Mame was better portrayed.
my God where to these people come from, Bratislava, Slovakia???
No. "Auntie Mame" was huge there.
i think i like the play more than the musical
