Does anyone know often a cover goes on for a lead on an international tour?
I would assume it is different than Broadway productions where the understudy/cover has two performances a week (from my understanding)

I don't think that's right.

This isn't true. Understudies aren't generally guaranteed two -- or any -- performances a week unless the main actor is going on vacation or some other kind of leave and this has been arranged. You may be thinking of an alternate, who goes on once (Hamilton) or twice (Phantom, Jersey Boys, etc...) a week.

"Cover" is just another word for understudy.

It's also a catch-all that includes alternates.

^ Yep. It includes everyone but the stand-by.
