Posted: 12/29/12 at 10:03pmThis sounds perfect! For sure in a list of ten musicals I would LOVE to see revived! I'm not sure if I want it as much as I want Once On This Island, Secret Garden, Hello Dolly, Mame, or Kiss of the Spider Woman, but still.

Kelli O'Hara would have been all wrong for Polly. The character needs a strong belt, which O'Hara admits herself is the last thing in her repetoire (she joked with Seth Rudetsky recently about how she doesn't understand why she keeps getting cast in roles that require belting when it's the one thing she can't do.)
That being said, I do think Laura Osnes is a pitch perfect choice for Polly in a revival of the show. Get Stroman to re-mount it and cast Colin Donnell as Bobby, Katie Finneran as Irene, and Michael McGrath as Bela Zangler and you're in business.

The Crazy For You london revival should have transferred to Broadway. It was way better than Nice Work If You Can Get It...
Sean Palmer was perfect as Bobby Child... he is so charming! He makes me think of Gene Kelly in so many ways... speaking of Gene Kelly... My dream role for Sean Palmer would be Don Lockwood in Singing In The Rain with Laura Osnes as Kathy Selden... Too bad he got injured before he could do it in Chicago... (sorry for my off-topicness here...)

i thought the london revival was a pale immitation of the original (hence why they had to give stroman a credit as the choreography was so similar) but agree Sean Palmer was a real standout. He could be working easily in London at the moment in SITR or Top Hat
