Critics or Children.....which one has more fun?

hey everyone is entitled to their opinion. But to people who don't go to theater that much or have so much crap in their lives.... Xanadu is considered a Godsend. Those skates, those lights, those leg warmers, those "legs" are more effective than shock therapy....trust me i KNOW.... Any ways when you have a heart of a child, some of those Mamma Mediocre musicals are the sparks of life that tell people, you can pout or obsess about sadness, or you can party like its the 70's or 80's!!

why spend money on drugs when you wont remember a thing when you could spend it on shows and meet people who are plain and simply talented. I have no friends at the moment but when I step into Schubert Alley, walk into a majestic theater, I am anything but ALONE

sry to be over-dramatic (maybe i can be an actor....then again maybe not) But I think if your gonna have a blast at a show read the reviews from the kids.

And regardless of anyone's opinion, Its your experience that matters ,not your friend, your mothers, John Doe's, or Entertainment Tonights'.....

I wouldn't say that you have NO friends. That is just an awful thing to say.

However, I do agree that the reviews from other people who see the show are ones that I tend to go with rather then what the critics say about any show. That is why I tend to ask on here if a particular show is good before I go see it rather then read what is in the papers. I also tend to look at the reader reviews that are on the Times website to get people's views on the show that are different then what the papers say. I have heard in interviews time and time again from actors who are in shows that are geared towards more of a child audience. And, how they talk about how they prefer the reaction from a child rather then a reaction from an adult. Because a child is more honest because they haven't learned that you are polite etc even if you don't like what you are seeing. And, that they prefer an honest reaction from a child rather then from an adult. This is because the adult is more polite and will applaud even if they don't like the show whereas a child isn't afraid to be more verbal with their reaction or anything like that.
