At the top of act 2 a white mouse raced on the stage (down stage right) a few feet and then went back! (it was a little 'side show')
Just wondering if there are any other stories of odd things showing up on stage.

Not quite a critter but at South Pacific earlier this month there was a month in the theatre. I had a perfect view inside the pit and the moth "dive-bombed" the conductor. He was ducking out of the way and never missed a beat. It was pretty funny.

About fifteen minutes into the performance of "The Seagull" that I attended a giant and I mean GIANT disgusting roach crawled up from one of the floorboards in the stage and ran down to the lip of the stage. I was in the front row in the student rush seats and was privy to the roach running up and down the lip and terrifying everyone in the front row. It was inches from all of us because if you remember the set at all, the floorboards jettied out from the stage and were right in your face for those in the front row. It's funny looking back on it but that thing was terrifying at the time.It remains the biggest roach i've ever seen and was darn close to the size of my hand with disgusting quivering antennas. I wasn't sure what to do because being in the first row if you jump up or try to whack it it would have been very disruptive and as we all know it's a fairly quiet play. Unfortunately the actors were unaware of what was going on but there was a lot of gasping and people coiling up in there seats and next to me a little girl (14 or so) let out a quiet scream. The ushers came down and tried to figure out what was wrong but by then it had crawled back under the boards. I just felt bad for the people seeing the play for the first time because it was impossible to focus on the play and this went on for at least five minutes. Just running back and forth across the front of the stage and scene stealing from the brilliant Kristin Scott Thomas.
