Crowded in early January?
Crowded in early January?#1
Posted: 11/24/06 at 2:31pmHi. To celebrate having sent in all of my college apps, I plan on rushing a lot of shows in early January. Do you know if the theatres are generally crowded at that time? When does the "off-season" begin and end?

Posted: 11/24/06 at 2:33pmThe concierge at the Crowne Plaza said that the said is usually "empty" in January, if that helps at all. I don't know specifics.

Posted: 11/24/06 at 2:43pmDepends on schooling. High Schools go back 1st week of Jan. Most colleges the 3rd or 4th weeks. Last year the 1st few weeks of Feb were dead.

Posted: 11/24/06 at 2:43pmOff-season! That's the word I was trying to come up with. Ah, well, I'm glad we had the same idea. I would go in January, but I'm in a show. So, I'm waiting until right after our last performance at the end of January.

Posted: 11/24/06 at 2:51pmHow is late January? Like weather wise too because we don't want to go to nyc if there is going to be these huge storms.

NY always has a chance of snow storms during the winter months.
I warn you now, it's cold - very cold. Bundle up and rough it.

Posted: 11/24/06 at 2:53pmCold, very cold. Could snow, although in the past few years the bigger storms have been much later in the winter season.

Posted: 11/24/06 at 5:25pmI actually went to NYC at the end of January this year and it was unseasonably warm--then two weeks later they got their biggest recorded snowfall. I'm also considering an NYC trip in January over MLK weekend.
