In all the current talk about what musicals should be revived, etc., it got to thinking about Wendy Wasserstein and Cy Coleman's PAMELA'S FIRST MUSICAL -- presented for a one-time-only afternoon performance at Town Hall, May 2008.
How I wish I could have seen it! Does anyone know if work is being done on the show to make it a full musical, or has it died with its creators?
Looks like Murphy at least has moved on from trying to get this done to just getting the revival of Mame, upon which her character in Pamela's was based.
I haven't heard of any work being done, just assumed it was dead, but would also be really interested if anything has come up.

Was it a musical? I have the book- the picture book- that I got at Goodwill for $2. It's absolutely adorable. I'm not exactly sure how it works as a full musical, though...
Was it a musical? Yes. When it was presented at Town Hall in 2008, in a posthumous tribute to creators Wendy Wasserstein and Cy Coleman, it was a one-act musical. The people that saw the show and posted on a thread here back in 2008, claim it was rather different from original children's book, and that Donna Murphy and Carolee Carmello were particularly wonderful among a strong cast. There was some talk back then of developing it into a full length show.
