Cursed Child Stage door Question

Hi again, sorry for all the CC questions. I just want to make the most of my trip!

I was wondering if any of you had any experience with stage door as far as CC is concerned? I would love to see all the original cast, especially Sam and Anthony.

I know that on 2-show days they only do part two. But what about on one show days? Is it random which part, do they typically only do part two, or do they sometimes do both?

Just trying to plan, especially because I believe I'm going to be traveling not long after part 2 to go back home.

I'd also love to hear personal experiences if you've had them :) The cast seems fantastic.

I believe on 1-show days they do both shows, but I don't have confirmation.  I saw it on two separate days, and we stage-doored for part 2.  We did get to see most of the cast after part 2 (including Sam and Anthony who are both just precious), except for Jamie Parker who I heard tends not to stage door.  Jessie Fisher was a particular joy to talk to, asking us about our Hogwarts houses and such, and the children are a delight.  Noma Dumezweni didn't do individual pictures, but welcomed us to take pictures of her as she signed down the row.  Everyone else we asked were kind enough to take a picture with us.

If you don't think you have too much time after part 2, I'd say definitely give it a shot after part 1, and you can always ask the ushers by the door if they know whether the cast is coming out.

Ah, I hope they do part 1. I'll most likely still have time after part 2, but night 1 would be more convenient as I'd have my friend with me. I'm always unsure if pictures are appropriate or not when it comes to stage door, and it's never been a huge issue before because I usually just want an autograph and to exchange a few words anyway, but I'd really love a picture with this cast, especially the two boys!  They're all so charming! I feel like I'd be too shy to ask though, or be the only one? I feel like I don't see many fan pictures with them, but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. I definitely feel like CC have a more traditional "fan love" of the actors versus some other plays, where the actors are kind of secondary to the content itself (if that makes sense?). I didn't stage door last time I saw it, but even just watching it, everyone was so vocal. Which was..at times a bit annoying. But I'm sure it feels nice for the actors, and I hope it means people are asking for pics so I can maybe have the confidence to as well haha.

Very sad about about Jamie Parker. I definitely want his signature Cursed Child Stage door Question I saw the play a couple weeks ago and he was such a talent! I'm excited to see it up closer to see all his emotion.

edit: wanted to edit and add that I personally see no issue in asking for pics and 100% want pictures (even if I'm too shy to ask). I just know (in my very very limited stage dooring experiences), there was less people that asked for them than there were people who did. So I wasn't sure if it was the norm or not!

100% confirming for you, they do not stage door after a part 1 only day (so Thursday on a normal schedule show week). I was just there in early July, and tried to stage door after part 1 only and there isn't one. It's because of how part 1 ends.

When I was at the stagedoor this past Saturday, it was a very easy and great experience. I did hear from one of the people guarding the stage door that Jamie Parker does not stage door and has his own door to leave from. Almost all the leads came out (besides Jamie and Alex Price) They all were happy to take photos (even Noma), the only thing different was that Noma would only sign one playbill per person. Paul Thornley came out almost instantly and Poppy Miller only a few minutes after him. Sam and Anthony came out at the same time, a bit later but didn’t take too long. Nova came out last and started from the end of the line and made her way to the front.

I absolutely loved the stage door experience at Cursed Child! I actually went twice I went on a Sunday and a Wednesday. Sunday a few people came out, Wednesday way more came out. I left and booked it to the stage door right when the show was over. The stage door is very long which is nice so you don’t have to have rows and rows of people. They only stage door after Part 2, including on one show days. The people come out pretty fast, Paul who plays Ron comes out immediately. They are all super nice. They will answer any questions you have (I asked them what their favorite illusion is), sign anything you want and pretty much all (except Noma I guess) take photos. But I have seen pictures with Noma in them which I guess people took pictures and she just looked up. They seem like the chilliest people. It honestly depends on the night who comes out. On Sunday when I saw the show, Paul, Poppy, Joey, Lauren, Edward, Little Harry Potter and Anto came out. Wednesday, Paul, Poppy, Lauren, Susan, Malika, Alex, Kathryn, Little Harry Potter, the guy who plays Sorting Hat, Anto and Sam came out. I didn’t get Jessie either night which she usually comes out so that was odd and I guess Noma is coming out which was interesting because she usually never stage doors. I have heard Jamie, Alex and Noma never stage door. If you don’t get them at the stage door it happens. I did send the stage manager fan mail and asked for a cast-signed playbill and received it in like 3 weeks. Sent specific actors fan mail and Jessie Fisher has responded, but no one else yet. Haven’t heard they do in NYC but I know they did in London. Hope you have a fun time! Tell us what happens!

When are you going to show? Would love to hear about your experience when you have it!! :)

I went to the show on 9/1, and had what you could call "VIP stage door." I don't know if this is a regular thing, but while waiting in line to go in for part 2, security selected my mom and I to have a sectioned-off spot with no barracade at the beginning of stage door. We were the first people they saw when coming out! I had the poster from the gift shop for them to sign, so due to holding that I didn't have a 3rd hand to take pics with anyone (and mom's smart phone operator challenged), but, it was great to talk to everyone one on one! The following came out for SD: Jack, James, Sam, Anthony, Lauren, Paul, Poppy, Malika, Alex W, Joey, Geraldine, Edward, and Kathryn.

From my past experiences, the ones who don’t stage door regularly are Jamie, Noma, Poppy, Alex, and Geraldine. Did the stage door several times in several months on different days and this was consistent, regardless. And Stephen Bradbury leaves out the 42nd Street side.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage."
