Curtains tonight

We had some severe technical mishaps during the second act. Right before "A Tough Act to Follow," the mikes completely cut out. They gamely soldiered on with the number sans mikes, but immediately following the curtain lowered and they announced that they were having technical difficulties. Twenty minutes later, we find out that their entire sound board is down, so they did the rest of the show without any microphones or sound effects.

Didn't detract much from the actual show, as much of what was left was ensemble numbers (and the mike-related gags re: "accidentally" speaking into onstage mikes that are already in the show were twice as funny), but kind of a downer for DHP's understudy, who's on all this week, to have a mishap like that in one of the few shows he gets to go on.
