I don't know how ANYONE can put Leo Bloom in this list. His voice alone made me want to leave during intermission, he's so awful and obnoxious. I hate that show. Anyway.
No matter how lackluster the show is, I have to say...
Manu as Akaash in BOMBAY DREAMS
he's so naive and cute, I can't get enough of him.
"If you are going to do something, do it well. And leave something witchy."-Charlie Manson
Sally in Charlie Brown and Snoopy Peppermint Patty in Snoopy Kate Monster Rod Trekkie (I love him in the money song! Penny from Hairspray Kristine in A Chorus Line Any character that Sutton or Hunter have ever played
I would have to say Tevye from FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. I mean, the world that he knows is crumbling away (tradition has been thrown out, his people have to move away from their land where they have been for generations, and he questions why he is a poor jewish man). I mean, that is heart-breaking.
"They're eating her and then they're going to eat me. OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!" -Troll 2
My votes go to Mark from Rent, Rusty from Starlight Express (fine, it's not on Broadway right now, but oh well...that's just my vote), and Penny from Hairspray.
Angel, and The Phantom...and I'm sorry but its a pet peeve of mine, it's not Les MiZ its with an S: Les MiS which is short for Les Miserables. I know anal, but im sorry
You've got to fight for every dream 'cause who is to know which one you let go would have made you complete.
ooooo little chris! what a perfect character for him! and I wish i could have seen randy from QAF as boq in chris' absence. When I heard he was filling it, i didn't think it was a good fit, but he too is very cute/sweet!
I know but my friend Aubrey (we are both QAFheads) she saw it with Randy and said he was really good- but not as good as Chris> It is the perfect charater for him. I think my favorite line in Wicked is when Fiyero first comes and Galinda grabs onto Boq and he goes "Your touching me" and falls. I loved it.
munkustrap- I gotta disagree with you on Manu. I found him so smarmy and greasy, and just totally unlikeable. I could have cared less about his dreams of stardom from the second he stepped onstage. I was hoping for a performer I could root for, but all I thought was "Well, Manu is working very hard up there, but I think he forgot to act."
In that show, I honestly thought most of the performances were incredibly boring. But the one person who genuinely made me laugh was Shane Bland, taking about 2 seconds of stage time and turning it into something memorable. He's also really cute.
