DAMN YANKEES FILM CASTING

i would imagine that Jack Nicholson or Jim Carey are pretty obvious casting as Mr. Applegate....the devil needn't sing well in Damn Yankees and I would imagine that they would think of Beyonce Knowles for Lola or Jennifer Lopez or Cathrine Zeta Jones.

Ashton Kutcher as young Joe Hardy or Justin Timberlake?

I love that they are remaking the film version of Damn Yankees. Its not one of my favorite shows but it is alot of fun.

any casting thoughts?

and Brad Garrett in the Smokey part?:)

OK. I am a purist. Why bother even refilming this when practicaly the entire original cast is on the original film version? Lola will always be Gwen Verdon.

May I say please without offense that this idea of casting on this message board strikes me as a particularly amateurish pastime.

Most of today's talent comes no where near the performers who originated roles. Most of the roles were written with a specific musical performer in mind, or one already cast. The reality is that there is very little original casting today anyhow and most casting in revivals, on stage or film, turns out to be pale imitations of the originals.

Don't be offended folks. Just my opinion. Now, cast away!

are they making another one? WHYWHY WHY!

Please dont' cast Catherine Zeta Jones, just because she did one Musical Movie and was great doesn't mean she should be in them all.

Actually I don't know who I'd cast, I'm still in shock that they want to redo that one too!
