This is such old news. BUT when they actually, physically begin filming it, I will get uber-excited.
He didn't seem to hopeful about it recently.
(Seems the article got his name wrong.)

Ha ha. Well, that means they're wrong in the blog entry, too.
Never old news. DevEn May was never officially attached until now.

Not that it's official, but Deven May hasbeen on IMDb for the longest time. But the article you posted doesn't say he signed anything.
At least there's a director.
John Landis was attached forever.
IMDB can up updated by *ANYONE* who is a registered user - that means you, me, your mother, and Hobo Joe across the street. IMDB (at least for upcoming films) is by no means an "offical" source.
This is the first mention from a moderately credible news source that Deven May is attached to star.
If it's true - I expect in the next few days a mention will be on either Variety, Hollywood Reporter, or Playbill.
There are so many wrong things in that blog entry I don't know where to begin. First - it wasn't a west end hit, it was a hit off-broadway. The west end production, unfortunately, did not do well critically or with audiences. Which is a shame
Second, John Landis has been attached to the project for well over a year now
In fact, it was 2004 that he was first attached

John Landis. Great. Duck Deven, duck.
Deven is so talented. I am happy for him.
Hopefully they will cast Kerry in the role. I saw it many years ago. I loved some of the music and some was awful.
I wish Deven much success. I hear he is also in the Jersey Boys tour.
I love the number when Deven is dressed in a tux and top hat.

That means they can't film for another year or so, right?

It's a sad statement about the film industry when half-baked, poorly-written crap like BAT BOY gets made into a movie.
Bela Lugosi
Transylvania, Europe
"half-baked, poorly-written crap like BAT BOY"
Say WHAT?!
Enchanted, I couldn't agree less with your statement
Besides, if you're talking about the recent hollywood greelighting system, go ask yourself why we need remakes of "Revenge of the Nerds", "The Omen", and so on. Not to mention the "original" films that anyone with half a brain could tell isn't going to fly based on a plot summary let alone being filmed.
Well, filming might not start for a while because Devon is starring in the National Tour of Jersey Boys. I'm excited though. He is awesome!!!!
