DOTV's Krolock lives on in London!

Hi All, this is my first post here. I am sad to report that 'Dance of the Vampires' Count von Krolock lives on in London, but he now goes by Count Fosco and is moonlighting in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new show 'The Woman in White'.

God, Michael Crawford should be banned from ever acting again. 'The Woman in White' is fairly enjoyable, despite it's laughable lyrics, but MC has that hokie Italian accent that contributed to the utter ruin of 'Dance of the Vampires'. God, he sounds so stupid and unnatural, just as he did in DOTV! Why does this man get roles at all? He can't act and he can't sing!

May he never work again!

Well, I saw the show that Dance of the Vampires was/is in Europe and what happened on Broadway was hard to deal with. Yes, it was a show, but it was a show that I loved so much in Veinna, that I had such high hopes for it on Broadway. AND, I wanted a cast recording in English!

I don't blame Crawford for what happened on Broadway, I blame the stupid creators of the show for selling out (to Crawford's comedic wishes) just get to get his name above their title.

I was perhaps a bit harsh in my inital post. Crawford has talent, and I don't deny that, but what is his obsession with performing with a hooty-tooty Italian accent. IT DOESN'T WORK AND SOUNDS STUPID!!!! His ego was too big to realize it didn't work, to realize that the show was better before.

I will say that Barton was incredible as the Count (TDV). Crawford sucked! Simple as that!

Now, the accent works a little bit more in The Woman in White, and I can't help but chuckle during "You Can Get Away with Anything", but I just find it strange that his next role after DOTV would be Count von Krolock, minus the fangs!

I haven't seen "Women in White"...long trip, I can't even make it to NY this year!...but I have read the book, and the character is most definitely Italian. Unfortunate perhaps that the Fosco character should come along after DOTV, but the accent is most likely appropriate. I've read excellent reviews of MC in the role. I think, Loge, you were prejudiced going in because of your anger at the DOTV/Tanz situation. It happens, but surely you knew that before you posted.....
