DREAMGIRLS Soundtrack #1 Album in the country

In a slow week for both sales and new releases, the Sony soundtrack to the Beyonce-starring "Dreamgirls" ascends 3-1 to claim the summit. The set sold 66,000 copies in the United States according to Nielsen SoundScan, despite a sales decrease of 36%. Indeed, "Dreamgirls" registers the lowest sales total for a No. 1 album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.

However, "Dreamgirls" becomes the first film soundtrack to rise to the top since "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" in 2002.

its ok. itll probably be nominated for a lot of grammys next year. its already went platinum which was much more than i expected it to do.

I think after the 19th, where it is in theaters everywhere, there will be a spike in sales.

Do you mean they're going to sell the soundtrack in movie theatres everywhere starting on the 19th?

No, they already did that during the Roadshow engagement of the film.

What he means by "spike in sales" is that it will sell more copies.
