Hey all,
Going out on a limb here but was wondering if any of you happened to have a souvenir program from the national tour of The Mystery of Edwin Drood that starred George Rose/Clive Revill, Paige O'Hara and Jean Stapleton.
I saw one in the Marriott Broadway store like a year ago and was foolish and didn't pick it up. I believe it had a purple cover with Drood spelled in red.
Any help would be MOST appreciated. In the mean time, anyone who has memories from the tour, I'd love to hear them. I'm doing a research project on the show and have been trying to gather info from the tour. Thanks!

I'm just curious: did the tour go by the title THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD or the replacement title DROOD?
Is this the only musical that changed its name after opening?
I mean PHANTOM - VEGAS is the only show I can even think of that fits that bill, and that really isn't the same thing as it is a much different show and not on Bway.

The tour went out as 'DROOD! The Music Hall Musical' though in some press items I've come across, it was also referred to in certain markets as 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood'. I've always felt that the original tag, 'The Solve-It-Yourself Musical' was stronger than the later 'Music Hall Musical'.
Howard McGillin recalled that the producers felt a shorter title was both more marketable to tourists and would allow them to move up in the ABCs. He also noted that it didn't make much of a difference! haha. I'm sure it only confused people further...!
