I was astounded when I came across that article. I can tell you from first hand experience, Barry is one of the nicest and most gracious people I have ever met. The photographer probably deserved it...

From news reports here, the photographer had photographed Humphries at the restaurant then followed him in a car ( the radio news said "chased") before continuing photographing at the other end of the journey and persisted after a request to stop.

And I'm sure that Barry delivered the punch with style and aplomb, befitting his place in society. One must always remember that photographers are just doing their jobs, darlings.

And if you strike the lens sharply the camera travels backwards and breaks their little weasel noses.
