Forgive my ignorance but I was listening to the song "Dance 10;Looks 3", and Val says she swiped her dance card.
What exactly is a dance card?

Just a way of saying comment card, or something similar to that. My most recent example is at my school's talent show auditions, each act was written on a notecard and commented on by the judges. Sometimes they're given to the participants to show them what they need to improve on, but other times, they're kept by the judges for reference in deliberation. Val "swiped her dance card" because clearly, at her auditions, they kept them secret.

"I also swiped my dance card once after an audition..."
"Dance Cards" are small cards each actor is given at a chorus dance call. For Equity calls, they typically have 3 portions. The top portion allows the actor to fill in personal information (name, contact number, name of audition, date). They are then turned in (sometimes with the headshot/resume) before the start of the call. Casting directors, dance captains, and/or others running the audition write comments on the 2nd (non-detachable) portion of the cards as each aspiring performer auditions. Some might use a number system, while others may just write "yes" or "no." Sometimes these then go on file with the casting director, etc., if the performer is potentially right for that project or another upcoming project. In addition, the bottom portion (which is detachable) allows the actor to fill out demographic information (namely gender and ethnicity. This portion is turned in to the Equity monitor for Equity's records.
Wow, that was long-winded!
