I recently read the play, and was wondering: Is there any significance behind the fact that Gerry's second son is named Michael, as is his first?

I think it's no more significant than it's supposed to be - He felt guilty, and felt that he had always let Chris and Michael down in Ballybeg, and so he wanted to name his other son Michael as a tribute... What else could it mean?

That's exactly what I was wondering. If he named his second kid because he felt guilty, or because he just liked the name Michael.
